It dawned on me that I'm not alone. For every one of the thousands of people who have managed to get a job working for George Lucas, there must be hundreds if not thousands of us who have received that most dreaded of reject letters. They say that misery loves company. I'd like to think of it as dreamers dream best when surrounded by others who dream. I'm starting a collection of other stories from people like myself who have tried some unusually creative ways to get into Lucasfilm. I'm not discriminatory, I'll even take stories from those who have used creative or unusual ways to get in.
Here's the scoop. If you have an unusually creative story about trying to get a job with Lucasfilm, ILM, THX, etc. I'd like to hear it.
Please email me a short 250-750 word story about what you did. Here's a basic format-tell me:
Who you are
Where you live
What is your dream career and why
The job you applied for
Why that job
When you applied for it
Tell your story about how creative or unusual your approach was
When you got rejected
What you plan to do next to follow your dream
If you have the job posting, letter, etc you can send a scanned copy as well. And, even better if you have the reject letter or email, send a scanned copy of that too. I would also like a short bio of who you are.
Please provide me your email and snail mail contact info.
I will start posting these as they come in.
Please! Do not make up stories. Nothing libelous, slanderous, or nasty. I reserve the sole right to edit or reject any material I feel is inappropriate.
Please email me your story or questions to
